What does the pituitary gland do?

The pituitary gland, or hypophysis, or the Master gland – is that the principal organ that influences your alternative glands functioning.The pituitary gland is located in a bony box in the middle of the head. It is called Sella Turcica, because it looks like a saddle. It is protected on the top by a tough membrane called the diaphragma sellae and on three sides by the bones of the skull.
